Another great show has come & gone, & I want to thank all the new members that signed up as a result of the show along with the current members who took the time to stop by to say hello & of course the faithful group that bring their bikes year after year through snow & ice ( more about that later !) This year's show was again the showcase for indoor motorcycle shows that Toronto members should be especially proud of. I have spoken to a number of members across Canada & the US & have not heard of a bigger show with as much variety that caters to both the modern bike rider & the antique enthusiast. This year's display featured a number of past entries along with several new members bringing out something new. I can only say that as a section Ontario has a large potential to grow from it's approximate 100 members to possibly 250 members or more. The response from the crowd was as usual very receptive to our display with our "dual" S65s getting a good look. We handed out 150 applications & considering the conditions outside along with the first day being New years day, we did pretty good.
![]() This year our booth was relocated into to a special club section which we shared with the CBX club & Canadian Vintage Motorcycle club. Our 10x80 booth was certainly large enough for our 21 bikes on display.
![]() Now about that weather , Friday was clear & cold as I unloaded my trailer with the 4 bikes. Then Saturday & Sunday , was the worst storm in Toronto in 50 years ! , we received 25 " of snow over 48 hours, roads were being closed , accidents galore & all we could think of was getting our bikes home in one piece. My open snowmobile trailer , even though normally appropriate was not going to do it !. I stared looking for a cube van Saturday night. To make a long story short I found one, that required 2 hours to dig out of the rental parking lot. The bikes survived the trip safely enough but then I found out my street was not plowed ! , we rammed our way in , but after unloading the bikes we found there was no traction left to return the truck. We'll this is where the fun begins, the transmission was starting to give out , & did I mention that there was no brakes ! After leaving the show at 6pm, I returned home from dropping off the truck & waiting for a taxi by 12 pm. Hey , we'll be back next year! Southerners I hope you do not think this is our normal weather for this show as it is usually just around freezing with very little snow. Now back to the show, Bikes entered & awards given out:
Andre Okazaki 74 H1 (3rd place Vintage Asian) , & 84 FJ600
