The requirements for starting a local chapter are as follows:

1) A group of VJMC members want to form a local Chapter and agree to meet at least once a month.

2) The chapter must have a minimum of 2 officers (Chapter Chairman and Chapter Events Chairman) who can perform any other duties as well such as Finance Chairman and Records Chairman.

3) All members of the chapter must be VJMC members or the partners of VJMC members. Any chapter member can hold office except Chapter Chairman who must be a VJMC member as well as a chapter member.

4) The group must officially charter with VJMC North America by presenting the charter application and their bylaws to the VJMC Chapter Coordinator (Floyd Ratliff). They may choose any name that they wish for their Chapter, and the Chapter number is assigned by the VJMC Chapter Coordinator. Once the Charter is signed by Pete Boody or Ellis Holman, they are officially a Chapter of VJMC.

Setting up a local chapter is a great way to get to know other VJ lovers in your area, and spread your enthusiasm to others. It's also a great way to become involved in your local community while enjoying your hobby. The chapter in Tennessee has put on the 2003 National Rally and will do it again in 2004. They have also done charity work for the American Cancer Society and other local charities.
